The past couple of months, I’ve been visiting Chicago and a fellow vegetarian took me to some of the best vegetarian foods across Chicago. It has been amazing. Chicago food scene is fantastic. Here’s part 1 of 4.
The best fries: At Pops for Champagne or The Watershed are the best damn fries you’ll eat. Both these places have the same kitchen and on both my visits, I forgot to take a picture. The fries are delicious with the perfect amount of salt, soft with a little crunch on the sides.
Now for the food. Mana was the first restaurant a friend took me to. And it’s an amazing restaurants for vegetarians.
Restaurant: Mana Food Bar
This place is vegetarian focused and everything on the menu I tried is delicious. It’s creative, looks appretizing, and tastes great.
- Mana Slider: Brown rice mushroom burger with spicy mayo on a ahawaiian roll.
I don’t like mushrooms but I gobbled these sliders
- Saag paneer: spinach and paneer in spiced yogurt sauce with brown rice
I’m an Indian, I know what saag paneer should be, and I haven’t really been a fan of it growing up. But at Mana, while what they served was their own version of saag paneer, I happily went through what was served. It was delicious.
- Baked goat cheese served with spicy tomato sauce and toast
If you’re vegetarian, lactose tolerant, happen to be at Mana, just order it and enjoy.
