This is one of the plates of food that made me like Asian food. A simple spicy, oily, colorful looking cuisine is Mapo Tofu from the Sichuan province of China.
Restaurant: The Bao, NYC
Served with a bowl of white rice, Mapo Tofu is prepared with black beans, scallions, spices, chili oil, chili flakes, and tofu, it’s the kind of food that doesn’t add disgustingly bland vegetables for no reason. (Broccoli should not be food. In any cuisine.)
