Cuban Brunch

As a vegetarian from India, Mexican food is the closest to real food – cooked beans and rice with sautéed onions/peppers. It’s my go to cuisine when I don’t want Indian but need a filling meal.

Few months ago I tried Peruvian, similar to Mexican and flavored like Indian food, it was a delicious meal. A few weeks back I tried Cuban food. And it was good.

Restaurant: Cafecito in alphabet city

Pictured above was called the Playa Varadaro Entrada – I have no idea what that means is a plate of:

  1. Sweet potato hash Browns
  2. Mixed greens
  3. Beans
  4. Rice
  5. Greens

Being the Indian that I am, I ordered a side of pickled onions. The combination was filling.

Another side that caught my attention was the creamy corn salsa:
